It tells the tale of two teenage boys falling in love during a challenging senior year at school. The story is set against the backdrop of a brief time period in Canadian History when Marc Hall captured national attention by suing his school district in the Supreme Court of Canada case: Marc Hall v. Durham Catholic School Board. Marc Hall won the right to take his gay male partner to the prom.〔
